Fenix TK41 Flashlight

Product Description

With the revolutionary Cree XM-L LED and 800-lumens brightness, the Fenix TK41 high-performance flashlight is ideal for outdoor hunting, exploring, search and rescue, and a host of other extreme outdoor adventures. The TK41 provides an extremely bright long-throwing beam that extends for up to 470 meters, plenty long enough to light the path ahead. The TK41 also produces four output levels: turbo (800 lumens), which runs for over two hours on a set of eight AA batteries; high (335 lumens, over 7 hours); mid (108 lumens, 27 hours), and low (10 lumens, 240 hours). As a result, users have plenty of lighting options for any scenario. Users can even use the light as a strobe, with two strobe settings: strobe and SOS. The build of the flashlight is also important, with a durable aircraft-grade aluminum body coated with a premium Type III hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The construction--which also includes a toughened ultra-clear glass lens with an anti-reflective coating--helps the light hold up to all kinds of abuse. Other features include intelligent memory circuitry that memorizes the last primary output when activating the light; a digitally regulated output; convenient dual switch system on the side; and accessories such as a shoulder strap, lanyard, rubber switch boot, and two spare O-rings. The TK41, which also stands on a flat surface to serve as a candle, carries a limited lifetime warranty.

The Fenix TK41 is powerful, tough, and compact , making it an ideal choice for outdoor searching, caving, or using as a spare light in vehicles.

The Fenix TK41 offers 4 brightness levels and 2 strobe modes.
The flashlight, which runs on eight AA batteries, is equipped with a Cree XM-L LED bulb with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The bulb's digitally regulated beam maintains a constant brightness during your activity, so you won't have to deal with a dimming light while you search. In the process, the TK41 produces four brightness levels: low (10 lumens), which runs for up to 240 hours; mid (108 lumens, 27 hours); high (335 lumens, 7 hours 15 minutes); and turbo (800 lumens, 2 hours 10 minutes). Add in two flashing functions--strobe and SOS--and you have a light that can meet your illuminating needs unconditionally.

The flashlight is well built, with a durable aircraft-grade aluminum body coated with a premium Type III hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The construction--which also includes a toughened ultra-clear glass lens with an anti-reflective coating--helps the light hold up to all kinds of abuse. Other features include reverse polarity protection, a dual switch system in the front, a waterproof housing (to IPX-8 standard), and a neck lanyard for easy transport.

First let me say I love flashlights. I own all kinds and brands and I am always looking for the next cool light. But of all the brands I have or have had, this is my first of the Fenix brand. I am so impressed that I am making this my first Amazon review.

Build Quality: Very very nice. The flashlight feels solid in my hand. It has plenty of knurling so that even when wet it will be easy to hold onto. The light is smaller then you would expect, being an eight AA light. The flashlight uses a carriage to hold the batteries. When loaded and inside the flashlight there was no rattle. It is rated to IPX-8 waterproof standards to 2 meters (6.5 feet).

Light Output: Wow! Seriously, WOW! 800 lumens in the turbo mode. It won't cook a cheeseburger from across the room but it looks like it could! This flashlight is just stupid bright. It provides an enormous amount of light and throws this light very very far. I was able to illuminate a road sign 400+ yards away. While this... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best thrower I own, June 15, 2011
This review is from: Fenix TK41 Flashlight (Sports)
I own a lot of flashlights, most of them are Surefire-sized lights, and smaller AA and AAA lights. The TK41 is the biggest light I own, it is a "traditional" flashlight size, like the old 2D Ray-O-Vacs, which I like.
What I like;
-Side clicky switch; I'm tired of the rear-clicky on most tactical lights, side is much easier to use
-Nice heft and feel, I like the size
-Great build quality, very solid. The emitter in mine is off-center, but that does not seem to affect the beam
-Incredible thrower! This thing puts out more light on Turbo mode than anything I own, and it is a pretty generous-sized hotspot
-I use Eneloops in it, but I like that it will take AA's if I need to
-Very low mode that is supposedly good for 270 hours runtime.
-On High (as opposed to Turbo) you have all the light you usually will ever need
-Tailstands nicely
-Waterproof (tested mine underwater)
-It will light up the night, for a long distance!
-You don't... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A good step-up from the TK40, June 20, 2011

Fenix lights are always good in my opinion and my only complaint with the previous model - the TK40 - was the too-wide beam pattern. This uses a new emitter and a polished reflector and provides a beam throw and pattern that for me are "just right."

Some don't like the 8-AA battery holder system but I find it very handy and easy to use.

Oh, did I mention that it's BRIGHT!!!

IMPORTANT: If you use this product, I strongly suggest that you invest in the Maha Powerex MH-C801D charger for AA and AAA batteries and two sets of Sanyo Eneloop batteries - both available on Amazon. This charger charges the batteries properly without overheating them and will give you long battery life. If you need to charge C and D NiMh batteries, get the MH-808M charger.
